Murray signs extension

28th May 2020

Friday 29 May 2020

The Club is delighted to announce that midfielder Murray Davidson has signed a contract-extension to remain at McDiarmid Park until the summer of 2021.

Murray first arrived in Perth back in May 2009 from Livingston following our promotion to the top flight and he has been an integral part of the first-team-squad ever since.

Injury curtailed the end of his 2019/20 season but with the 32-year-old back to full fitness he will be raring to go ahead of the 2020/21 campaign, whenever it may start.

Speaking to the Club’s official website after the midfielder agreed his extension, caretaker boss Alec Cleland said: “Muz has been a tremendous player for St. Johnstone and I’m sure I speak for everybody when I say how delighted we are that he’s signed for next year.

“Having arrived at St. Johnstone during the same summer as him - prior to working together at Livingston - I know exactly what he brings to the team and his experience will be vital as we look to push on next season.”

We’ll have an interview with Murray on Saints TV later today.
