Preview | Dundee Utd (H) Betfred Cup

10th November 2020

TUESDAY 10 NOVEMBER 2020

Tonight we face Dundee Utd in our 3rd Betfred Cup game of the season. We start the match with a 100% record after beating both Kelty Hearts and Brechin City and currently sit joint top of the group with Dundee Utd, although we have a game in hand.

After a wait of 4 years for a Tayside Derby against Dundee Utd, tonight will be the third encounter between the sides in the space of four months. The stakes are always high when we face Dundee Utd but tonight there is a lot more than just local bragging rights on the line - a win for Saints would put us in a strong position to qualify to next round of the Betfred Cup.

Tonight’s match officials are Don Robertson, who will be assisted by Alan Mulvanny and Andrew McWilliam.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Saints' Betfred Cup form has been excellent, it started with a hard fought 2-1 away win to Kelty Hearts, followed by a 7-0 dismantling of Brechin City to kick start our Cup campaign. In the League, Saints and Dundee United have met twice already producing a 1-1 draw at the start of the season followed by a 0-0 drawn a couple of weekends ago, however tonight’s fixture has a completely different dimension to it. A win for Saints, who sit top of the group of goal difference, tonight puts us in pole position but a win for Dundee Utd cancels out their defeat at the hands of Peterhead.
