PREVIEW | St. Mirren (H)

St. Johnstone are back for their third home game in a row as we take on St. Mirren at McDiarmid Park in a 3PM kick off.

Saints are looking to bounce back after last weeks narrow late 1-0 defeat at the hands of Hibernian, whilst our visitors are coming off 1-1 draw against Ross County and are currently sitting 2 spaces above Saints in the table.

Both teams will be missing star men with Saints missing Liam Craig but also St Mirren missing former Saints Player Joe Shaughnessy after he received a straight red in St. Mirren’s last game.

Manager Callum Davidson is set to have a fully fit outfield squad ahead of Todays’s fixture after having several key players out injured during the start of the season.

Today’s match officials are Kevin Clancy as the referee and Alan Mulvanny & Craig Ferguson as his assistants.

The last time these two teams met was in March as a 10 men Saints earned a valuable point on the road which seen none other than Liam Craig be dismissed after picking up two yellows.

The two sides were scheduled to play a preseason fixture but that had to be cancelled after coronavirus implications up at St. Mirren.

This afternoon’s game will be the 129th meeting between the two clubs. Saints dominate the tie with an impressive 57 wins compared to St. Mirren who have only beaten St. Johnstone 33 times, this fixture has ended in a draw 38 times.
