Two-year-extension for Scott

We're delighted to announce that 24-year-old left-back Scott Tanser has agreed a contract extension keeping him at the club until May 2021.

Scott has been ever present for the club so far this season and scored his first goal for Saints in the 2-0 victory over Dundee in our final game of 2018.

He joined the club in 2017 after spells with Rochdale and Port Vale and played a big part in the unbeaten run and clean sheet record earlier this campaign.

Speaking to the club's official website about his new deal, Scott said that as soon as the offer was on the table he jumped at the chance to extend his stay at McDiarmid Park.

"I'm very happy to have signed the contract extension," Scott said, "and it was a no-brainer for me. As soon as I knew there was an offer I just wanted to get it signed.

"I'm enjoying my football here and I feel settled. I have a young family now and it's great to have the security of a two-year-deal which will allow me to focus on putting in performances every week for this club.

"Last year I had to wait for my chance to break into the team and this season I've managed to play in every game - I'm absolutely loving it!"

Scott has been encouraged by the way the first half of the season has gone and admits he has a taste for scoring goals now after netting his first for the club against Dundee last month.

"I'm delighted with where we are at the halfway point," he said.

"I think we're in a good place and hopefully we can continue to perform in a similar manner in the second half of the season.

"Every player is going to be needed in the squad because we'll have a lot of tough games in the weeks and months to come. I think we're all looking forward to it and we believe we can keep our form going.

"It was a great feeling for me to score my first goal for the club and if I'm honest it's given me a bit of a taste for it! I want to score more and hopefully I can add to my tally during the rest of the campaign."
