Biography
Sam Stanton joined the Saints in the summer of 2025.
Sam, 31, came through the youth academy system at Hibernian, where he made his debut at just 17 against Rangers in January 2012.
He made more than 50 appearances for Hibs and spent time on loan at Cowdenbeath, Livingston, Dumbarton and Dundee United, before signing for the latter on a permanent basis in January 2018.
Following over 50 appearances for United, Sam moved to America to sign for Phoenix Rising FC in January 2020.
After a successful season winning the Western Conference and reaching the USL Championship Final (which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic), the club and Sam mutually agreed to part ways in December and he subsequently signed for Dundalk.
Sam was most recently playing his football with Raith Rovers, with a loan spell at Arbroath last season. He is now looking forward to his next chapter with us at St Johnstone.
