Elliot joined Saints in June 2019 after leaving Tayside rivals Dundee following their relegation to the Ladbrokes Championship.
The 'keeper started his career with Aston Villa joining the Villa Park Academy for the 2006/07 season. He became a regular for the club's Reserves before joining Lincoln City on-loan in March 2011. He played nine league matches for Lincoln before joining Cardiff City initially on a six-week-loan-deal in September 2011. Despite not making a single appearance for the Bluebirds, we signed permanently on a one-and-a-half-year-deal in January 2012.
While at Cardiff he joined Wycombe Wanderers on an emergency loan where he made two appearances before being released by Cardiff at the end of his contract. After his release by Cardiff, Elliot joined Bristol City - then of League One - on a two-year-deal.
He made 26 appearances in all competitions for the Ashton Gate outfit - plus a short spell on-loan with Newport County - in the 2013/14 season before signing for Blackpool on a permanent deal. Parish made 13 appearances for Blackpool in the Championship but left at the end of the season to join Colchester Utd.
In one season with the Essex club he played 25 times in League One before dropping down a division to League Two with Accrington Stanley for the 2016/17 season.
In the summer of 2017, Elliot moved north of the border and signed for Tayside rivals Dundee. A regular in his first season at Dens Park playing 28 times in all competitions, Parish lost his place to Jack Hamilton and had to be content with being the club's no.2 for the 2018/19 campaign. He left in the summer of 2019 when he was quickly snapped up by Saints for the 2019/20 season.
He featured in Betfred Cup Group Stage defeats against Montrose and Forfar but didn't make any league appearances in his first season at the Club. Following an injury to Zander Clark during pre-season, Elliott made his first league appearance for the Club in the opening match of the 2020/21 campaign against Dundee United.
