The club were delighted to announce the recent signing of free agent Jahmal Hector-Ingram.

The forward adds further options for Callum Davidson up-front, bringing energy and dynamism.

The young Englishman, born 11th November 1998, began his playing career at the youth academy at West Ham. He would leave London in 2019, signing a contract at Derby following a successful trial spell.

Jahmal made 8 appearances for the first team in his stint at the club. However it was in the 2019-20 Premier League 2 season he shone his brightest. He scored an impressive 22 goals before the season was brought to a halt due to the COVID pandemic. The youngster would be nominated for player of the year for his efforts.

In February of 2021, Jahmal would be loaned out to Stevenage for half a season. Upon his return to Pride Park he would be released and later sign for the Saints as a free agent.

Speaking to the club after signing, Jahmal said:

“I am buzzing about this move, it is a great opportunity for me and I thank everyone at St Johnstone for showing faith in me.

“I’ve already had a couple of training sessions with the lads, I’ve been really impressed with the standard of my new teammates and with the level of coaching from the gaffer and his staff.

“I am well aware there is a big challenge ahead and I am ready to face that challenge head on.”
