St Johnstone recently announced the loan signing of Tom Sang from Cardiff City for the remainder of this season.

Tom, born 29 June 1999, will bring an attack minded thinking to the right side of the defence.

The youngster was born in Liverpool and began his career at youth level at Bolton Wanderers. He would have a successful trial and end up signing for the Manchester United youth system in 2015.

After a loan period at AFC Fylde, Tom was released by Manchester United but would sign for Cardiff City after a successful trial period. He would make his senior debut for the Welsh club in a losing effort to Reading in the FA Cup in February of 2020.

In September of the same year, Tom would sign a loan contract at Cheltenham Town until January 2021, making his first appearance in October. He would go on to play in 14 fixtures for the side before returning to Cardiff. Once arriving back he would make his first league debut in a 0-0 draw against Huddersfield Town in October 2020.

Speaking about the new signing, manager Callum Davidson said:

"Tom has had a really good pathway in football and we are pleased to have concluded this loan deal.

"He will give us another option and he possesses the attributes to do well for us."
