Richard Foster

Experienced full-back Richard Foster signed for the club in August 2016 after leaving Ross County.

Richard began his career at Aberdeen. A product of their youth system, he made his first-team debut at 17 back in 2003. In August 2010, he went on a season-long-loan-deal to Rangers before returning to Aberdeen the following summer.

In January 2012, Richard moved south to join Bristol City but after 18 months in England he returned north of the border and signed for Rangers on a permanent deal. He remained at the Ibrox outfit until July 2015 when he joined Ross County. Richard, who is a former Scotland U21 internationalist, played a pivotal role for The Staggies as they went on to win the Scottish League Cup.

Richard made his Saints debut at McDiarmid Park on August 20th 2016 when Saints lost 4 -2 to Celtic. The following Saturday his spectacular goal against Inverness Caledonian Thistle was not enough to earn Saints a point in a 2-1 defeat in The Highlands. In February 2017, he signed a new contract to remain with the club until the summer of 2019.

Richard enjoyed a solid 2018/19 season for Saints playing 37 out of the 38 Ladbrokes Premiership games - missing only the first game of the season against Kilmarnock - and in February 2019 he signed a new deal at the club to May 2020.
