Preview: U18s v Morton

Midfielder Cole Williams has been enjoying picking up plenty of minutes for the under-18s this season.

The young Saints have pieced together another productive campaign and remain in contention to lift Club Academy Scotland League silverware come the end of the season.

Next up is a home game against Morton on the McDiarmid Park astroturf on Friday evening. Kick-off will be 7.30pm and supporters are welcome to attend.

“We’ve had a few players go out on loan so at times we’ve had such a young squad, but we’ve been doing well,” said central midfielder Cole. “I’ve been getting more minutes than I expected.

“We’re up there challenging in the league table, but we know there are still tough games coming up.”

Cole – who has been with the club since U11/12 age group – has played a number of games alongside his twin brother, Dylan, this season.

He smiled: “We’ve always played together. It’s good because you know when each other wants the ball and there is that chemistry.”

Kick-off on Friday evening is 7.30pm. It is free to attend.
