St Johnstone v Dundee: Community Matchday

We are looking forward to welcoming Saints in the Community as the matchday sponsor for our Scottish Premiership game against Dundee on Saturday, March 30.

The St Johnstone Community Trust’s positive work continues to change lives through football across the region on a daily basis.

Now the spotlight will be turned in their direction on ‘Community Day’ where supporters young and old can come together to have a fun-filled afternoon at McDiarmid Park.

Limited edition scarves will be on sale in the lead-up to the game, the opportunity for fan face paints will add further colour to the Ormond Stand and representatives from Saints in the Community’s invaluable projects will escort players onto the pitch for kick-off.

The players will be wearing special warm-up shirts to raise further awareness of Saints in the Community and the #MoreThanFootball message will be voiced wide and clear.

More than 1500 tickets have been sent out to local schools and, whether a regular at the stadium or getting set to head along for the first time, everyone at the football club is excited to welcome you back.

And to get everyone in the ‘Community Matchday’ spirit, a ‘Wear Blue Day’ will be taking place next week.

On Friday, March 29 – the day before the game – Saints in the Community will also host a Fun 4s and Super 5s football festival at McDiarmid Park. Fun4s take place from 6.15-7.15pm while the Super 5s kick-off at 7.30pm and run through until 8.30pm.

Teams will take part in five 10-minute games, with family and friends encouraged to come down and join in the fun too.

Spaces remain available and team coaches can book a place HERE.

Rebekah Penman, Saints in the Community’s business development manager, said: “We’re really excited for our 2024 Community Day, planned to be an even bigger celebration than last year.

“As a charity, we have achieved a lot in the last 12 months and it’s important we take time to celebrate that with our supporters, raise awareness of our work and thank people for their ongoing encouragement.

“We have schools and employers taking part in Wear Blue Day as we gear up towards the match-day event and primary schools have been involved in creating artwork.

“It’s been a busy few weeks of organising, but we can’t wait to welcome all our community guests to McDiarmid Park. Having a representative from a variety of our projects join the players on the pitch will be a special moment too.”

Fans attending the match, which kicks-off at 3pm, are also advised to ‘Bring a Pound to the Ground’ for bucket collections in support of Saints in the Community.

There will be a community fan zone before the match on Saturday, taking place from 12.15pm until 1.45pm. Beat the Goalie, Target Shot, Soak the Coach, Penalty Shootout and more to keep everyone entertained.
