Revamped Physio Setup

Saints are delighted to announce a new set up at the club with regards to professional player physiotherapy.

Following the departure for new pastures of Tony Tompos, Melanie Stewart has been promoted to the role of Head Physiotherapist and took control of first team matters for the first time at yesterday’s match at Celtic Park.

Melanie told the Saints official Website: “I’m delighted to be given this opportunity to step up. Obviously the fact that I’ve been here for over eighteen months means I already know the club and all the players so that’s hugely helpful to me and I look forward to the challenge.”

Melanie’s promotion opened up a vacancy for the Assistant Physiotherapy role and we are pleased to welcome Gavin McCarthy to that role.

Gavin has extensive experience in football – notably with yesterday’s opponents Celtic – and after a self-imposed break from the game to pursue other interests, he’s keen to get back involved in the game.

Gavin says: “I’m delighted to have joined Saints and I’ve been made very welcome. It’s good to be back in football and I’m looking forward to working with Melanie and the other staff in the months ahead.”
