Stoppage time hero Enes Alic spoke of his joy after rescuing a point for 10-man Saints against Falkirk on Saturday afternoon.
The Bosnian left-back struck a delightful last-gasp free-kick with 95 minutes on the clock to clinch a 1-1 draw and an important Premiership point.
He smiled: “It was a good free-kick and of course I was happy to score.
“I saw the goalkeeper’s position and, when I hit the shot, I thought ‘that is it’. I was so happy to go over and celebrate with the fans.
“It was my first goal for the club and in the Scottish Premiership. What else can I say? I was just really happy.”
Enes added: “I think we deserved the draw. If the game had stayed at 11 versus 11, maybe we would have won. But we should be happy with the point. That is the most important thing, not the free-kick.
“It was a very hard game and we expected that, with a lot of running. We fought for every ball in windy conditions. In the end, we take the point and now prepare for our next game.”
Enes is settling in well on and off the pitch.
He said: “I’m really enjoying it here and I have been accepted well by everyone. I’m enjoying the games but I feel I can still get better. I just need some time for that.
“We have a couple of days to rest now but I will still train individually. We have played four games in 10 days, which was hard. So now we can have some rest and get ready for Aberdeen next month.”
