Globetrotting Saints supporter Jim Eccleston is officially launching his new book at McDiarmid Park on Tuesday evening.
‘From Broxburn to Brazil’ charts a year of global football travels, with St Johnstone at its heart.
You can head down to the Muirton Suite for a 7pm start on Tuesday, September 22 to find out more about the book and, of course, to pick up a signed copy. Author Jim will be joined by actor Colin McCredie on the night.
All profits from the sale of the book will go to St Johnstone Fans Supporting Foodbanks.
Jim said: “Initially, I never really planned any of this! What began as ‘just another season’ following St Johnstone home and away, grew arms and legs several times over and turned into a football odyssey stretching far beyond Scotland.
“From familiar grounds at home to matches across Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Portugal, France and Turkey – and an unforgettable trip through Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil – the book captures the places, people and experiences that make watching football wonderful – and far more than just what happens over 90 minutes.
“At its heart is my team, St Johnstone FC, and a season that began with the club relegated to the Scottish Championship but ended with the title won and promotion back to the Premiership. Told match by match, with a bit of humour, many observations from the road and more than 300 colour photographs of my adventures along the way. Why not join me on my journey!”
The bar will be open for drinks at Tuesday evening’s book launch.
