Everyone at St Johnstone Football Club would like to congratulate Callum Booth on a fantastic career after he recently announced his retirement from playing.
Callum made 79 appearances and scored one goal in a near five-year spell at McDiarmid Park and during that time he famously was part of our historic cup double in 2021.
“I absolutely loved my time at St Johnstone,” explained Callum after hanging up his boots. “It is a special club and what we did during my time there was unbelievable.
“After I announced my retirement, everyone has been asking my career highlights and winning the cup double and competing in Europe has to be right up there.
“It was crazy times really and to look back on them is nice, especially now I have decided to call time on my playing career.
“To draw away against Galatasaray 1-1 has to be one of the best results in Scottish football history. We were unlucky against them at home too, we ran them close.
“I always had a great connection with the supporters, and they backed us even during the double when they couldn’t attend the matches.
“I remember leaving for the Scottish Cup final and seeing the banners up at the stadium and at Broxden roundabout. It was amazing to feel their support.”
Callum added: “This is definitely the right time for me to hang up the boots. It is nice to do it on my own terms and now I can enjoy football as a fan now. I’ll make sure to get along to McDiarmid next season.
“It was great, great times at St Johnstone and I will always look back on my time at the club with fondness.
“A few of the boys from our team have been in touch over the last couple of days. It was a great bunch and it is nice to keep in touch with them.”
