We are delighted to confirm that defender Cheick Diabate has signed a new deal at McDiarmid Park.
The defender will now remain in Perth until 2028 following a standout campaign in our promotion back to the Scottish Premiership.
Cheick featured 42 times over the course of the season across all competitions and he is now excited to test himself in Scotland’s top flight.
After penning his deal, Cheick said: “I have loved my time at St Johnstone and that is exactly why I wanted to extend my stay. We enjoyed such a succesful time last season and I am now looking forward to going again in the Scottish Premiership.
“I have always said I would love to stay at the club. I love it here and there are great people around the place. I love working under Simo and his staff members, they have been great for me.
“Next year will be another great challenge for us. We will be coming up against some big clubs but that is a challenge we all want to go up against.
“It will be a whole different test but we are all looking forward to that. Every footballer wants to test themselves at the highest level against the best opposition possible.
“I’m looking forward to working hard and giving my all for the club next season.”
