A number of youth academy players were in action against Forfar Athletic in Tuesday evening’s pre-season friendly at Station Park.

Get to know a little bit more about them…

DOUGAL MCADAM, 17, LEFT WING/STRIKER

Dougal McAdam grew up in Perth before moving to Aberfeldy at a young age. He played his early football with Breadalbane and Strathtay Football Club.

Dougal, who plays off the wing or up front, first got involved with Saints around the age of eight and signed when he was 10 years old.

He attended Breadalbane Academy and was a regular starter for our U19s last season. He played the final 30 minutes on Tuesday night.

ARRAN CLARK, 17, WINGER/STRIKER

Arran Clark is more of a recent arrival at McDiarmid Park.

He joined our U19s on trial towards the end of last season before signing up with the Saints.

Arran was previously at Motherwell for more than three years and, before that, played with Stenhousemuir.

He is from Stenhousemuir and attended Larbert High School.

Arran is comfortable playing anywhere across the forward department and played the final 30 minutes against Forfar on Tuesday.

ARRAN BROOKFIELD, 18, FULL-BACK

Arran Brookfield was another youngster to feature on Tuesday night.

Supporters will likely have seen his name before. He was previously involved in pre-season friendlies last season and has been part of the first team matchday squad.

Arran, a full-back, captained the U19s for large parts of last season.

He started his football journey at Syngenta and then went to Motherwell. He then made the move to Saints, where he has been since the under-12 age category.

Arran’s hometown is Linlithgow and he attended Graeme High School.

JACK ROBERTSON, 18, MIDFIELDER

Midfielder Jack Robertson made his first team debut on the final day of last season against Ayr United at Somerset Park.

Jack joined Saints at a young age from Crieff Juniors, his hometown team. A Morrison’s Academy student, Jack has continued to rise through the ranks at McDiarmid Park.

Predominantly a box-to-box central midfielder, he has been heavily involved with first team training ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Jack, a regular for the U19s last season, played the second half of our 4-0 friendly win against Forfar on Tuesday.
