We are delighted to confirm that defender Liam Smith has extended his contract at McDiarmid Park until 2027.
Liam played a key role in our promotion back to the Scottish Premiership last season, chipping in with a number of key goals and assists as well as playing his part in our 20 clean sheets across the league campaign.
After penning his extension, Liam said: “I am delighted to still be in the building heading into next season. It is going to be an exciting season for the club.
“It is a great group of boys to be involved with, and it is a club that is moving in the right direction. It is somewhere you want to be.
“I am looking forward to playing in the Scottish Premiership again. It has been a few years since I was last in the top-flight. I am excited on a personal level to go and challenge myself.”
Reflecting back on a special season for the club last term, Liam added: “It was a long, hard season and it was especially nice to get it done the way we did.
“It was nice to celebrate after the Dunfermline game and we could also have the title celebrations against Raith knowing we already had it wrapped up.
“It was a really enjoyable and special few days for everyone and it is something that you have to savour. Football moves on so quickly so now we are already raring to go into next year.
“It is important to have a wee holiday and get the feet up for recovery, but our pre-season plans have already kicked into action and we are all looking forward to getting back in and getting to work again.”
