He was a lecturer at Heriot Watt University prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry. Over a 20-year period he had a variety of roles including Research Director for Pfizer. Since leaving Pfizer, he has established and run a variety of private and public companies in locations such as Oban, Houston and Xi’an.
Mike and his wife Rachael live in Northumberland where they are both heavily involved in the local community – and entertaining their 10 grandchildren!
Mike said: “The last few decades have been a time of considerable change within Perth city and county, but St Johnstone Football Club remains a constant. I am pleased to be part of the group that will benefit its long-term future.
“The club’s importance goes well beyond the 90 minutes on the pitch. It attracts people into the city and gives old and young alike a much-needed identity and focus, bringing them into contact with others.
“We’re committed to becoming an increasingly important asset for the Perthshire community.”
Chairman Adam Webb said: “We are delighted to have Mike as our first Scottish member of the Saints in America ownership group.
“Mike’s commitment to St Johnstone and Saints in the Community is unwavering. He will be a strong voice for supporters and the Perthshire community in our ownership discussions.”
