St Johnstone WFC are back in action this Sunday when we welcome Falkirk to the Community Arena at McDiarmid Park.
Kick-off is 4pm and we would love to have your support.
Saints head into the match following an important win over Renfrew in their last SWPL2 fixture.
Head coach Josh Henderson was delighted to secure the three points, and he is now looking forward to getting back to business following a free weekend in the fixture schedule.
He said: “It was a win against Renfrew. First and foremost, we just wanted to make sure we got those three points. They are so important in this league.
“I don’t think we performed great, but we were better than we have been. We could have killed the game off a bit quicker.
“It was a wee bit nervous for us in the last few minutes of the game, but as I say getting the three points was massive.
“It is a very competitive league. If you can string a couple of results together you could be jumping four places.
“Every game you go into there is no guarantee of anything. You have to work very hard to get the points.”
Looking ahead to Falkirk this weekend, Josh continued: “It is typical after a good win that the fixture schedule throws up a free weekend, but that is football.
“It gives us a chance to reset though. We have a busy few weeks coming up so it is important we are in the right mind set.
“If we can get some consistency the confidence will be there for us. We need to back it up against Falkirk.
“They have done really well as a newly promoted team. They have pushed themselves up the table and they are hard to breakdown.”
Our owner and chairman and Adam Webb will also be attendance on Sunday.
Josh added: “Adam has a great record watching us actually, so I hope that continues on Sunday. It will be great to see him again and as always, his support is much appreciated.”
