Andy Jackson's season of woe looks set to continue

Striker Andy Jackson is facing a number of weeks on the sidelines following the injury he sustained in the game against Livingston today.

Last season’s top scorer has been beset by illness and injury problems all season and his luck doesn’t look to have changed today.

The 21 year old collapsed in a heap with nobody around him during the first half of the win over the West Lothian side and was taken by ambulance to Perth Royal Infirmary at half time (see picture) where a tear of his Achilles tendon is the early diagnosis – early fears that the tendon had ruptured appear to have been allayed.

Meanwhile, Manager Derek McInnes has told the Saints Official Website that he was pleased with the spirit shown by his side as they dug deep for the three points which sees them extend their table-top lead to seven points.

Admitting that his side were lucky to be level at half-time he felt that the few bits of quality play in the game came from his players, none more so than the goal from Collin Samuel which won the match.
