DANNY GRIFFIN TAKES UP SAINTS COMMUNITY POST

26th July 2016

St Johnstone FC is today delighted to announce that Danny Griffin has been appointed Community and Club Development Officer at McDiarmid Park.

In this newly created post, Danny will be responsible for assisting the award-winning Saints community programme in the areas of community football, promoting St. Johnstone in Perth & Kinross and with supporting local coaches and clubs involved with our programmes.

Danny, of course, spent a number of seasons at Saints as a player after initially joining the club as a youngster in 1994. He was also capped at international level by Northern Ireland on 29 occasions.

“I’m really glad to be back at the club where I first started. I’ll be able to pass on the experiences that I’ve had throughout my career to the young people in the community. It’s good to put something back into the game that’s always been good to me.” said Danny Griffin.

Community manager Atholl Henderson is delighted to have Danny on board at the club. He said: “Danny’s experience and enthusiasm will be of great benefit to the club and the community.”

The role is created thanks to a partnership between St. Johnstone FC, The Scottish FA, The SPFL, McDonald’s and others.
