MANAGER'S POST-MATCH THOUGHTS
26th July 2016
Contentment tinged with disappointment is the best way to describe the feelings of Derek McInnes after last night’s 1-1 draw at St Mirren.
He was delighted with the way his side took the game to the hosts in the first half and was only frustrated that the chances created just after Dave Mackay’s goal had not led to a bigger half-time lead.
Acknowledging that St Mirren’s double substitution on the hour mark had turned the game in the favour of Gus MacPherson’s side, Derek felt his players stood up well to the test which followed immediately after Mackay’s own goal and indeed looked the more likely side to grab a goal towards the end.
