First Team
PREVIEW | Dundee Utd (A)
31st July 2020

Friday 31 July 2020
Saints kick off the 2020/21 Scottish Premiership season tomorrow afternoon at Tannadice as we face Tayside rivals Dundee United for the first time since April 2016.
It will be new Manager Callum Davidson's first competitive match in charge against a Utd side who also have a new boss in Micky Mellon.
The match will be played behind closed doors due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic but supporters will be able to watch the match via a live stream from home.
It's the first competitive fixture for Saints since the 1-0 victory over Livingston back in early March and one that is sure to bring excitement to players and fans alike.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
The last time the two clubs met was back in April 2016 at McDiarmid Park, with Dundee United coming out on top that afternoon in a 0-1 victory.
The previous two fixtures that season finished 2-1 to Saints and at the end of the campaign, United were relegated to the Championship.
Saints have won 8 out of the last 12 meetings between the sides, including on that famous day May 17th 2014 at Celtic Park when we won the Scottish Cup.
In 141 league meetings between the clubs, the head-to-head record is very tight but United just edge it with 53 wins compared to 51 Saints victories. The fixture has ended in a draw on 37 occasions.
