St Johnstone WFC: Aberdeen (H) preview

St Johnstone Women kick-off our Scottish Cup quarter-final action on Sunday when they welcome SWPL1 side Aberdeen to the Riverside Stadium in Perth.

Kick-off is 1pm and your support would be much appreciated.

The Saints, who booked their ticket to the last eight thanks to a home victory against Elgin City, head into this weekend’s cup tie off the back of 2-1 league win against leaders Hamilton.

Prices for Sunday are £5 for adults and £1 for concessions. Please note, gates open at 12.30pm and it is cash only. Season tickets are not valid for this one.

Manager Josh Henderson previewed the match and said: “Coming from behind and winning against the league leaders last Sunday gives us belief and confidence.

“But we know how tough the challenge against Aberdeen will be. They are a strong side, have quality throughout and have improved over the season.

“We will need to match our performance from last weekend – and give even more. We’ll look to start on the front foot and defend well.”

Josh added: “It’s a great achievement that both the women’s and men’s team have reached the quarter-final. We’ll both be rooting for each other.

“We want to do ourselves proud. A big crowd down at the Riverside on Sunday will give the girls extra encouragement and an extra lift.”

As always, Saints Fans Supporting Foodbanks will be accepting donations for Perth and Kinross Foodbank.
