79 mins - A Jody Morris releases Carl Finnigan who passes to Sandaza but Fran doesn't make the most of it with United struggling to get back.

76 mins - Fran Sandaza is yellow carded for going down under Garry Kenneth's challenge in the box. It's the right decision by referee Alan Muir. United bring on Ryan Dow for Dalla Valle.

63 mins - Nearly a goal for United as a cross comes in and three players got for it. Barry Douglas takes the full force of Peter Enckelman's attempts to get the ball but the ball goes just wide of the post.

52 mins - Back to the other end and Dalla Valle really should score but he heads John Rankin's cross from the left wide of goal.

51 mins - A chance for Saints as Liam Craig gets his head to a Davidson cross but Sandaza's effort with the loose ball is blocked by a United defender's leg.

48 mins - Free kick to United 30 yards out and it's the closest thing to a goal yet - Garry Kenneth's brutal strike rattled the top of Peter Enckelman's bar.

46 mins - Liam Craig tries to curl one but it's well wide with his right foot.

Second half about to start - let's hope it is more entertaining than the first half.

45 + 1 mins - Enckelman gets behind a long-range drive from John Rankin and that's half-time. Not a great game by any means. Saints have had marginally the best of possession but not by much and goal scoring chances have been painfully thin on the ground.

45 mins - There will be one additional minute. It's a free kick to United wide right.

43 mins - This is no Tayside cracker so far. Too many misplaced passes from both sides.

33 mins - The free kick by Liam Craig is charged down but it is eventually worked wide to Callum Davidson whose superb cross meets the head of Frazer Wright but he heads wide of target.

32 mins - free kick to Saints 30 yards out after Sandaza goes down - not sure the referee got that one right, it looked like the United man got the ball.

31 mins - Frazer Wright almost scores an own goal as he slices a Keith Watson cross narrowly over his own bar.

29 mins - Saints are not managing to make much of an impression on the United rearguard so far - Liam Craig pulls a shot wide from a Sandaza knock down.

26 mins - Barry Douglas should do better when the ball lands at his feet five yards out but he can't get a connection on the ball, thankfully for Saints.

21 mins - Frazer Wright is spoken to after bringing down Dalla Valle 30 yards from goal. Free kick to United but it is wasted by the home side

16 mins - Chance for United as Keith Watson's cross from the right find Dalla Valle and his header is just over.

Saints have enjoyed the best of the opening quarter of an hour in terms of possession.

It's sufficiently dull overhead that the home club have switched the floodlights on.

13 mins - Great run from Kevin Moon who gets on the end of a Callum Davidson pass and his first time shot is deflected for a corner. When Liam Craig's corner comes in, Marcus Haber heads wide.

10 mins - Free kick to United and Barry Douglas's kick causes concern in Perth ranks but Willo Flood eventually blasts over.

7 mins - Callum Davidson wins a free kick wide left but United clear the initial danger from Liam Craig's kick and the return ball is too heavy.

6 mins - First save comes from Peter Enckelman who gets down smartly to an angled drive from Dalla Valle

2 mins - Early pressure from Saints but the United defence repels their advances.

3.02pm - We are off and running and Saints are shooting left to right - away from the 'shed' end.

2.53pm - Welcome to Tannadice for the first game of the post-Derek McInnes era. It's dull and overcast in Dundee and there is a healthy travelling support inside the ground.

Saints show just the one change for today's game against Dundee United at Tannadice. As expected, Cillian Sheridan has failed to make it and his place goes to Marcus Haber.

Murray Davidson picked up an injury in the midweek bounce game at Dens Park and misses out.
