McFADDEN HIT WITH SFA COMPLIANCE OFFICER NOTICE OF COMPLAINT

26th July 2016

The SFA Compliance Officer has this afternoon issued a Notice of Complaint against James McFadden.

The Saints man was sent off by referee Andrew Dallas in the second half of Sunday’s home game against Hamilton Academical for two bookable offences and the SFA charge states that as he left the field of play he made an offensive gesture towards the travelling support.

He has now been charged with breaking Disciplinary Rule 200 and has been offered a fixed two-match ban – one match for the alleged gesture and a second match under the SFA rule which states that a player receives an additional one match ban for any additional sending off offence. Coming on the back of the automatic one-match ban for his two bookings, it would mean the player misses the next three games – v Partick Thistle, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Aberdeen.

The club have until tomorrow afternoon to respond.
