'KANO' ON GRABBING THE MATCH WINNER AGAINST KILLIE
26th July 2016
Following Saints’ victory yesterday against Kilmarnock, first half substitute Chris Kane spoke to the St Johnstone website about the game where he grabbed his first home goal.
“It wasn’t the best of starts for us but I thought the boys did brilliantly to come back. I thought the whole game the boys were solid at the back and we took the chances when we got them.
“I’m delighted, it’s always good to score goals wherever they are but I am just really thankful that we managed to get the goals and the win we neededâ€.
Chris has scored twice this season, against Kilmarnock and at Morton in the League Cup, but has had to be patient due to the form of Steven MacLean and Graham Cummins.
“Both of them have been brilliant, they have been scoring goals and playing well so I can’t really complain, but the Manager put me on and I managed to get a goal.
“The Manager sees me and Graham as similar players, we both get in behind and I think he just wanted to do a straight swapâ€.
Steven MacLean is Saint’s top scorer this season and grabbed both assists in yesterday’s win, and Chris is full of praise for his strike partner.
“Macca is brilliant, he is so experienced. He does well holding the ball up and talks me through the game right from the start so it is brilliant playing with Maccaâ€.
