Firstly, the forward went down in the box after beating Gers keeper Jack Butland to a short back pass on 49 minutes. Then the Saints number nine went down under the challenge of Tom Lawrence shortly after however, both appeals were dismissed by VAR.
Saints continued to commit bodies forward and Oludare Olufunwa unleashed an effort that looked destined for the corner of the net however Ben Davies got his head to the ball to divert it for a corner.
Kemar Roofe had a goal ruled out on 63 minutes for an offside call on Abdallah Sima however, Rangers would wrap up the points with 11 minutes remaining. A through ball from Lawrence played in substitute Rabbi Matondo who raced clear before slotting beyond Dimitar Mitov.

We need to put points on the board and start winning games of football. Hibs have their new manager and will be looking to impress in their first home game. It’s up to us to go down there stamp our authority and try tak 3 points.
It’s massive for us to get this first win of the season. It will hopefully give us a springboard to go on and get a bit of success and build a bit of momentum as well.
We’re very hopeful to get Sven Sprangler involved for Saturday. He looks very good, knows the game very well and has experience at a high level. He’s ready and fit, we just want to get him involved as quickly as we can.
Drey Wright will be available for selection, he has trained all week and is looking good.

DARA COSTELLOE PRESS CONFERENCE
I’m really enjoying my time here so far. The lads helped me settle in really quickly which has made it very easy. There’s always challenges in football but I’m to try improve myself as a player but also the team.
Being here will be a huge part of my development. Getting games under my belt, helping the team as much as I can and hopefully get a few goals and assists along the way.
I think we’ve got a really good group here. It’s a young, new squad and the team’s starting to gel now. I believe we have what it takes to do very well this year. There’s a lot more to come from us and we want to back that up.
