Kucheriavyi to represent Ukraine at Maurice Revello Tournament

Max Kucheriavyi has been called up to the National Olympic team of Ukraine for a training camp and international tournament in France.

The midfielder will be on duty with his country from May 31 until June 17 and is excited to join up with the squad in the coming days.

Ukraine will be competing at the Olympic Games in Paris, France, where the football will begin towards the end of July.

After receiving news of his call-up to the training camp and Maurice Revello Tournament, Kucheriavyi said: “I am really happy to get this call-up and get the chance to play for my national team again.

“I’m excited to be involved because I really enjoy the experience when I get the opportunity.”

The call-up arrives off the back of us securing Scottish Premiership status following a dramatic final day of action at Fir Park on Sunday.

“There have been two really positive things which made me really happy,” Kucheriavyi smiled. “We stayed up on Sunday and then getting this call-up. It has been a very nice couple of days for me.”

He added: “I think it was a rollercoaster of a season for us. At the start of the season, some people maybe didn’t give us a chance of staying up.

“I’m just really happy we stayed up. We didn’t want it to be so close but the way we did it was special.

“There was relief when the Ross County versus Aberdeen game finished. Everyone was just waiting for that result and, as soon as we found out, we were all delighted and relieved.”
