Inverness Match Preview

Saints dominated the first half of the previous encounter and went into the break well worth their 2 goal advantage. 18 minutes into the game Shaun Rooney headed home a Melker Hallberg cross at the back. Hallberg doubled the lead when Melker Hallberg scrambled the ball over the line from close.

However, Caley Thistle pulled it back in the second half thanks to a double from on-loan Norwich midfielder Reece McAlear. He struck the ball home after getting on the end of an Austin Samuels cross on 73 minutes and lashed home a 25-yard free kick into the top corner with 10 minutes remaining.

The Managers thoughts:

"I thought we were fantastic for the first 70 minutes and we need to repeat that on Monday. We need to make sure we keep doing the basics well and we’ll give ourselves the best chance to win the game

It’s going to be a tough contest, you can see Inverness are a good have a fighting spirit. They have our respect but we have to play with our tempo and vigur that we had in that first 70 minutes of the first leg.

It will be an emotional game and we’ll be fired up but we have play with calm heads and we’ll get the result we need."

Tickets for our Premiership Play-Off Second Leg match against Inverness Caledonian Thistle at McDiarmid Park on Monday 23rd May 2022 (kick off 7.45pm) are still available to buy online.  

Please note that these play-off ties are played under different SPFL rules from the 38-match league competition, and we are not permitted to include the game as part of the Season Ticket package.  

Therefore, ALL supporters are required to purchase tickets for this match.  

Ticket costs for the match are the minimum stated under the competition rules and are as follows:

·       Adults £18

·       Concessions (U20 & over 65) £12

·       12 & under Free of charge (ticket required)

·       Ambulant disabled/wheelchair* Age-appropriate price as above (includes PA if applicable)

St Johnstone supporters will be accommodated in the East and Main Stands.  

Visiting fans will be accommodated in the north end of the Main Stand plus the North Stand and Inverness fans should follow the link on their own club’s website to buy tickets for those areas of the stadium.
