Kilmarnock Match Preview
31st October 2023

Saints host Kilmarnock in a 7.45pm kick off in the cinch Premiership.
Alec Cleland will take charge of the team for Wednesday's match after Steven MacLean and Liam Craig departed the club.
LAST TIME OUT
SAINTS
Saints were defeated 4-0 by St Mirren in Paisley.
Saints made a good start to the match however, they were behind on 36 minutes as Keanu Baccus fired a shot from 25 yards into the net.
The hosts doubled their lead 3 minutes into the second half as Mikael Mandron took advantage of a slack back pass by James Brown to slot the ball home.
Mandron then got his second and St Mirren’s third with 20 minutes remaining as he combined well with Olutoyosi Olusanya before slotting the ball home.
Greg Kiltie added a fourth in the final minute of the match as he tapped the ball home from close range after Olusanya’s shot had hit the post.
This result led to Steven MacLean and Liam Craig departing from St Johnstone.
KILMARNOCK
Kilmarnock moved up to fourth in the cinch Premiership with a 2-0 victory over Aberdeen at Rugby Park.
Captain Kyle Vassell gave the home side the lead with a well taken goal on the stroke of half-time.
Marley Watkins extended their lead just after the hour mark after a mistake by Dons defender Stefan Gartenmann.
Danny Armstrong also hit the crossbar for the impressive hosts.

Alec Cleland's preview
"Saturday's game was disappointing for us as staff, the players, our supporters, everybody.
"On Sunday I found out the news that the manager and Liam had lost their jobs, it wasn't a great day.
"I got the call to be asked to take interim charge, that was an easy decision for me as I have been at this club a long time and done that role before.
"I had to go round all the staff and players to try and pick them up, it has been a very difficult last few days for everyone here at the club.
"The focus for myself and the players has to now be our game on Wednesday, we have to focus on getting out first 3 points of the season."

Liam Gordon's preview
"We need to look at ourselves in the mirror as individuals and as a group in terms of what we can do better.
"They're two guys I've played with growing up and I've had them as coaches as well so I've got good relationships with them.
"It's horrible to see. They're not just your peers or your bosses or your coaches, they're also your friends who have lost their jobs and they've got families. It's not nice at all. It's not easy but it's part and parcel of football."
