Friday 9th December

St. Johnstone will aim to build on their emphatic home victory over Inverness when they travel north to face Aberdeen tomorrow.

The two sides have already faced each other in the league this season, playing out a 0-0 draw at McDiarmid Park in August. However, Aberdeen came out on top in the recent Betfred Cup quarter-final, with substitute Adam Rooney scoring a 90th minute winner for the Dons.

St. Johnstone have only lost once in the league this season away from home, and are unbeaten in their previous three trips to Pittodrie in the Premiership.

Aberdeen themselves come into this fixture in good form having hammered Kilmarnock 5-1 in midweek. The Dons sit five points above Saints, and could go second if results go their way this weekend.

Tommy Wright spoke midweek of both Aberdeen and Saints' respect for each other: "It'll be a difficult game for both sides", said Wright. "Both sides will want to get three points out of the match, which highlights just how tight this league is."

"We've played them often in the last couple of years and there's definitely a mutual respect between the clubs. We have a decent record at Pittodrie, but know we will have to perform at our best to win the game. If we do that, we're confident we can get all three points."
