Saints' School Engagement Manager, Megan Moss, has been busy since her appointment in October getting out into local schools to involve primary school kids in the Fair City with Perthshire's only professional football club.

The Californian has taken players to Our Lady's, Tulloch and Methven, as well going on her own to Letham, Kinnoull, North Muirton and Balhousie primary schools.

Megan has given presentations to hundreds of school children already, as well as spending entire days with individual primary schools running football sessions with different classes.

She said: "Our schools programme is all about encouraging kids to get involved in sports, with the emphasis on having fun. We've had a really good reception at each school and the kids are always excited to be doing something with St. Johnstone.

"There's also been a number of parents who have got in touch to say they've brought their kids to a game for the first time because of the visits, so it shows we're doing something right."

She added: "When I see kids at the game, and they call me by name, it's really gratifying to know we are making an impact."

As well as school visits, Megan has also been coming up with ideas and initiatives to get children and families more involved on matchdays. She was responsible for the pre match activities before our Halloween home match with Partick Thistle, as well running a keepie-uppie competition before our recent match with Ross County.

Goodleyburn Primary is next up for a players visit on Monday 19th December before the Christmas holidays, with more planned after the New Year.

If you'd like your child's school to receive a visit from St. Johnstone please ask a member of staff to contact Megan at meganmoss@perthsaints.co.uk
