Reaction: Adama Sidibeh on his first Saints goal

Adama Sidibeh was disappointed with the 2-1 defeat against Dundee but was proud to score his first goal for the club.

The Gambian striker’s sensational acrobatic overhead kick had pulled us level in the second half of Saturday’s Scottish Premiership fixture.

Sidibeh had been working hard to open his account since signing at the beginning of February and it was clear to see what it meant to him when celebrating in front of the East Stand.

Providing his reaction to the weekend’s game – and his goal – he said: “I think the performance was good, it was just one of those days.

“It was a really happy moment for me scoring my first goal for the club. It was what I was dreaming for.

“And it was good giving the fans what they want. They have been waiting for the goals.

“It was also a nice moment scoring my first goal for the club in front of my family, who were watching me. I was really happy, to be honest.

“I had been waiting for that first goal. Now the confidence is back again. We will keep working smart for the next game.”
