First team players help inspire the next generation

First team players helped inspire the next generation of football-mad youngsters at Saints in the Community’s recent Inservice Day Camps.

Kids attending the popular sessions on the astroturf pitch at McDiarmid Park were treated to visits by eight members of the squad.

Among those dropping in to have a kick around and answer questions were captain Liam Gordon, Luke Robinson, Adama Sidibeh, Max Kucheriavyi, Dave Richards, Ross Sinclair, Benji Kimpioka and Diallang Jaiyesimi.

Fran Smith, Saints in the Community CEO, said: “We are always grateful when members of the first team squad give up their time to chat and answer any questions from our excited camp participants.

“It helps add something extra special to what we offer and plays a part in ensuring that we can continue to change lives through football.”

Saints skipper Liam Gordon said: “I still remember the days when I used to attend the community football sessions at McDiarmid Park as a kid and they continue to be great memories to look back on.

“The players are always keen and delighted to give up their time to take part in the sessions. We see the buzz is creates - but it’s also brilliant for us.

“Saints in the Community do so much great work across the region and hopefully everyone who attended their most recent camp days will be inspired to return for more fun times soon.”
