Former player Alan Salisbury passes away

Perth-born striker passes away

The Club is saddened to have been informed of the passing of former player Alan Salisbury who died suddently last Saturday aged just 65.

Perth-born Alan was a Saints fan and after plying his trade in junior football, notably with Jeanfield Swifts, he was signed by the club in 1977, making his debut as a substitute in the August of that year in a First Division match against Hamilton Accies at Douglas Park.

His first team appearances were limited between that match and his departure in 1981 but he nonetheless appeared in a Saints jersey on eighteen occasions over three different seasons scoring two goals.

Alan, who also played senior football with East Fife, joined Tayside Police in 1982 and had a lengthy career with them which included representing the Tayside Police football team on numerous occasions.

The thoughts of everyone at St Johnstone FC are with Alan's family and friends at this sad time.
